YOUR OBJECTIVES:

[progressally_objectives]

You may, like me, believe in the interaction with the mind, body, and emotions or spirit. But, a client coming for an energy session is often motivated by body pain, while a person coming for an NLP session identified its issue through the mind. In the end, you and I know that it is all interconnected, but you have to use the entry point your client would use to reach out.

So I will use the notion of body-oriented or mind-oriented practitioners to describe the “entrance door” a client would use to come to you. It allows you to identify what will speak to them in terms of information on a website.

A body-oriented practitioner (massage, physiotherapist, osteopath, reiki, etc.)
The client knows more or less your technique and wants to have fast information on the options available in terms of technique, price, and duration. Therefore, pictures with a short summary of the technique will be enough. Should they have more questions, if your pictures are appealing, s/he will call you or ask when making an appointment.

A mind-oriented practitioner (health coach, life coach, project coach, career coach, intuitive, etc.)
The client needs to feel that you can understand what they are going through and that they connect with you. They will likely speak about intimate stuff and want to feel safe. Therefore, sharing your story will be highly relevant to them. You don’t need to go from your childhood to today, but share a story that is relevant to the type of client you are coaching.

The questions to connect with the people you are best equipped to serve.

  • Do you like working with men, women, children, all ages, or gender?
  • Do they have a similar profile?

As an example, as an Online Signature Program Creation Coach, I work with Coaches, Healers, Channels, Intuitive or Spiritual Coaches as I like and understand their universe. I also open my door to crafters and creatives as the artist in me can connect with them. I could open my doors to anyone, but I’ve no clue about mechanics or financial systems, so my expertise wouldn’t serve at its best.

Journaling to find the vocabulary of the story and invitation to heal with you:

  • Before being the coach that I am today, what do I had in common with my clients?
  • What transformation brought me to be an expert at what I do?
  • What were my words back then to describe what I was living?
  • What was my belief system?

Then turn it into a text about what your clients are experiencing and what they would like to change in their life.

Note that if you are a psychotherapist, as your story should not be part of the interaction with your client, you would prefer to journal about your clients type of trauma if you have one that you prefer helping people with (some are more interested to help people on sexual issues, other childhood trauma, others adult trauma, burnout, etc).

Have fun.
