The Hummingbird

Even in stillness I am moving.

When drinking a flower’s nectar, I flutter my wings with such intensity that I look still.

But the stillness is just an illusion.

Likewise, you might currently be expending a lot of effort or energy in some area of your life, without seeing much movement or progress.

Keep in mind that what you see isn’t necessarily a reflection of what is actually happening.

So, even if the lack of tangible results may frustrate you, remember that you are not flipping your wings for nothing. External stillness sometimes hides massive internal transformation. So hang on and trust the process.

I trust my own rhythm.

My wingbeats are legendarily fast, but their speed does not exhaust me as they are in tune with my own inner tempo.

They allow me to travel with fantastic stability even during stormy weather. I can achieve far more by tuning into my own rhythm than if I tried to mimic a massive bird’s slow and heavy wingbeats.

We all have our personal rhythms and it is time to reconnect with your own individual pace and timing so that you can better navigate your way through all of life’s storms, whether big or small.

I see people’s true colors.

Thanks to my enhanced vision, I am able to see a larger spectrum of wavelengths than humans and thus I can see more colors than most do. This helps me to avoid predators and find the right flowers to nurture me.

While you may not be able to see as many colors as I do, when you trust your intuition and gut feelings, you too can see other people’s true colors.

I am here to remind you not to get lost in your hopes and projections of who you want other people to be, but rather to see and love people for who they are while relying on your inner voice to discern whether or not their presence in your life is in your highest good.
