The Lizard

I regenerate myself.

When I lose my tale, it grows back. I am one of the few animals on Earth with the capacity to grow back my damaged body.

While you may not be able to grow back a leg or an arm as a human, you can rebuild your mental and emotional bodies or any of your energetic bodies when they hurt.

But in order for that to happen, you need to press pause and take the time to regenerate.

I am a reminder to take the time to heal some of your wounds so that you can rebuild your confidence and strength for the future.

I let go of what blocks me.

When I get caught by a predator, I easily cut my tail and leave it behind as bait for them to chew on while I get back to safety. I have learned to let go of pieces of me that are not vital in order to preserve my life and my freedom.

If for me that piece is my tail, for you it might be the persona you have constructed around what you believe your life should look like or, alternatively, the beliefs you have cultivated around who you think you should be in order to be worthy of love.

It is time to revisit these mental constructs—to shed what no longer serves you and to tune in to that which is truly vital in your life and which truly makes you happy.

I follow my inner light guidance.

I am fueled by the light and warmth of the sun and I fall asleep when my environment is too cold.

Perhaps you, too, have fallen asleep trying to fit into a world that was too cold or too rigid for you.

Maybe you chose to build a life that gave you a sense of safety or belonging to a community only to realize it was an illusion and that it did not fulfill your happiness or your true aspirations.

Deep down you know what lights you up, and even if it feels too far fetched, impossible, or like just a silly dream, it is time to hang on to that light and allow more to come into your life so that you can move to a new reality that makes you truly fulfilled and happy.
